Gopro hero 5 session sd card capacity1/18/2024 My blank memory card showed the the Photos Remaining reduced by 144, from 37526 to 37382. 3600 images at 30fps yields 120 seconds, or two minutes. One image per second, 60 per minute, 3600 for the hour. I did a timelapse video for exactly one hour. I couldn't find the answer, so I did an experiment to answer it myself. I've reached my current limit of knowledge. I've tried educating myself through reading internet search results, but I haven't found an established authority I'm comfortable trusting, yet. And while the playback time of one minute per hour is ideal, the visual speed of the playback is less than desirable for me.Īny knowledgeable input is welcomed. The option is to increase the interval to 2 seconds, reducing the number of images and playback time by half. I'm simply trying to anticipate how much memory I will consume each day and prepare for it without spending hundreds of dollars on SD cards. But other internet calculators show widely varying results. I calculate that at 15.1 GB total storage consumed. Second, can anyone help me calculate how much memory I will consume shooting 4k timelapse video (which is wide view angle by default if I'm not mistaken) at 1 second intervals for 18 hrs? That's 64,800 images, which should yield about 36 mins of playback at 30fps. I have 256GB card in it and it's working, so I'll probably continue to use them, but am I wasting my money? As it fills up, will it start to have issues that I don't have when it has very little stored on it? It's very confusing to a non tech person like me. Official answer for GoPro support is 128GB. Will it stop at 128GB? I wouldn't think so. I know it can operate with it, but I don't know if it will use all of it. I can control it via BT connection to the Quik app on my iPhone which is mounted between my handlebars.įirst, I have looked on the internet and product data sheets and even asked GoPro customer service but there is no consensus on whether or not my GoPro will use a 256GB SD card. I have it mounted on the front of my windscreen and I use tethered constant power to it so battery power is not an issue. I plan on recording an extended upcoming ride.
